What is this programme about?
The Penang state government organises the supply of affordable homes priced between RM42,000 to RM300,000 for Penangites. This programme is aimed at promoting home ownership for Penang households earning between RM2,500 to RM10,000 a month.
The Penang Rumah Mampu Milik Homes projects are categorised into 5 groups, according to home prices and also income group eligibility of buyers.
Type A maximum price of RM42,000
Type B maximum price of RM72,500
Type C1 maximum price of RM150,000
Type C2 maximum price of RM200,000
Type C3 maximum price of RM300,000
Who can apply?
General Eligibility Criteria
(Contact ministry/agency for all other requirements, if any)
Resident in Malaysia
Born in Penang or residing in the State of Penang
Age 21 years and above
The applicant must be registered voter in the State of Penang
The applicant must be working in Penang
Applicants for type A and B must be a first-time homeowner
Application for type C is allowed for applicant/spouse who owns a property purchased before 2008 and that is less in price to the price of the intended type C property purchase
Income group: Monthly household income:
Type A (RM42,000) - less than RM2,500
Type B (72,500) - less than RM3,500
Type C1 (RM150,000) - less than RM6,000
Type C2 (RM200,000) – less than RM8,000
Type C3 (RM300,000) - less than RM10,000
