Important Dates for GE14

 

May 9, 2018 - Polling Day

April 7, 2018 - Dissolution of Parliment

April 10, 2018 - Announcement of the polling date

April 11, 2018 - the writ of the election will be issued to the returning officers (RO) in charge of each constituency to inform them of their duties on nomination day and polling day.

April 16, 2018 - Voters can check their polling stations 

Checks can be done via:

  • the EC’s website at ww.spr.gov.my 

  • the ‘MySPR Semak’ mobile application

  • by calling 03-88927018

  • sending an SMS to 15888

April 23, 2018 - the closing date for the application for postal voting in the country for the Form 1A category

April 28, 2018 - the closing date for the application for postal voting in the country for the Form 1C category

April 28, 2018 - Nomination date

May 5, 2018 - Early voting date (for members of the armed forces, police officers and their spouses who are eligible)

April 16, 2018 Check Your Polling Station

GE14 Aid Federal Territories Barisan Nasional manifesto, Manifesto with everyone in mind

Some of the goodies offered are to increase free bus services to another 12,000 school-going children living in PPR and PPA.

This also includes introducing daycare facilities such as kindergartens for residents with young children as well as youth empowerment centres in the housing schemes.

PPR and PPA will also get funding to improve facilities like lifts and the common area of their flats.

Efforts to empower and find jobs for 80% of the city’s homeless community is also part of the agenda.

Other incentives include the allocation of RM50mil education fund for the city’s poor and provide 10,000 entrepreneurs with food trucks to help them earn a living.

About 100,000 youths seeking jobs will be provided with internship programmes with companies.

Other perks include free tuition for poor students, free mass weddings for poor families, and providing transit facilities for families of patients seeking hospital treatments.

Those living in private low-cost flats will get an additional RM50mil from the 1Wilayah Maintenance Fund (TP1W) for the maintenance of common property and repainting programme.

The funds will also be used to upgrade and improve public facilities like street lighting, rubbish houses and public toilets including amenities for the disabled and visually impaired.Read more >
