Mar 29, 2018, 98 out of 165 seats hit by redrawn boundaries
The tabling in the Malaysian Parliament yesterday of the Election Commission's (EC) redelineation report will affect 98 out of 165 parliamentary seats in Peninsular Malaysia. Only seats in Perlis and Putrajaya will not see any changes. Johor, Selangor and Perak states are the most affected, with 19, 18 and 16 parliamentary seats respectively seeing changes of some kind. Overseas Malaysian
Absent voter - voters who did not apply to vote as postal voter
Postal voter – Apply using the Form 1B Postal Voting Application. The EC opened the application for GE14 on January 28 and all applications must be submitted before the day that Parliament is dissolved.
Civil Servants on Duty (a new category gazetted in 2017)
The employees of nine departments and agencies who are required to be on duty on polling day. Apply using the Form 1A Postal Voting Application.
The departments and agencies are the Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency, Prisons Department, Fire and Rescue Department, Health Department (government hospitals and clinics), Auxiliary Police, Malaysian Civil Defence Force, Immigration Department, National Disaster Management Agency and the National Registration Department (only for staff at Urban Transformation Centre).

April 11, 2018 - the writ of the election will be issued to the returning officers (RO) in charge of each constituency to inform them of their duties on nomination day and polling day.
