What is this programme about?
This programme aims to assist the hard-core poor families to reduce their financial burden and also to improve their quality of life by providing the basic food essentials. In 2015, the number of recipients for the Food Basket Programme totalled 3,500 people. Kelantan had the highest number of recipients (907 people), followed by Sabah (902 people) and Sarawak (836 people).
Under this scheme, a monthly food aid of RM80 is credited into the myKAD of the successful application. This monetary aid can be used to purchase essential food at selected registered stores.​​

Resident in Malaysia

Listed as hardcore poor in e-Kasih

Head of household is less than 60 years of age

The number of people of the household > 5 people

Per capita income below RM120 a month
