What is this programme about?
The Supplemental Food Programme of Full Cream Milk Powder started in the 1970s and was initially a short-term programme to help rehabilitate undernourished and underweight children, pregnant women and breastfeeding mothers. It has since been extended and successful applicants are eligible to receive free milk for at least 3 months. The programme aims to improve the nutritional status and health of antenatal mothers, postnatal mothers as well as children by supplementing their daily diets with full cream milk. Successful applicants are given 1 kg of full-cream milk powder.
