Insurance and takaful companies will set a RM8mil fund to bear Covid-190 screening test costs of up to RM300 each for policyholders.

Family takaful and insurance companies will offer a 3-month suspension on premiums by contributors whose source of income is affected by the pandemic.

mySalam COVID- 19 hospitalised patients and B40 patients quarantined and under investigation (PUI) can claim an income replacement fee of RM50 per day for a maximum of 14 days.

Frontliners Allowance
The monthly special allowance of RM400 for doctors, nurses, and medical personnel will now be increased to RM600 per person, starting from 1 April 2020 until the end of the pandemic.

Strengthening healthcare industry
Special monthly critical allowance for front liners (RM400 for medical doctors and other medical personnel, as well as RM200 for immigration and related front-line staff).
Additional allocation of RM160 million to 26 hospitals in the country to contain the Covid-19 outbreak second wave.
Additional allocation of RM500 million to the Health Ministry to purchase medical equipment, such as ventilators, essential intensive care unit equipment, extra personal protection equipment for general medical staff and laboratory equipment for screening of Covid-19.
RM100 million to appoint 2,000 new staff, especially nurses, on contract.

Summary
Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin announced a RM250 billion People-Centric Economic Stimulus package (Prihatin) which will benefit all segments of the society.

RM128 billion for the people’s welfare
